Cultural Unrest inside the Bahamas

What factors contributed to the social unrest from the 1930s and 1940s?

The main causes of working class unrest and elevating dissatisfaction were the same over the British Caribbean Region colonies: low salary; high joblessness and under-employment; arrogant racist attitudes with the colonial facilitators and business employers in their contact with black labourers; not enough adequate and proper, in many instances, any representation; and no established structure for the quality of industrial arguments by group bargaining. Furthermore the unfairness shown toward black labourers would later result too many complaints and little or no positive response. Black labourers extended to seek some form of equality because most of their very own work at precisely the same performance level as people who were white.
