The Vietnam War (Vietnamese: Chiến tranh Việt Nam, although in Vietnam this era of American engagement is known as the American Warfare, Vietnamese: Chiến tranh Mỹ), also known as the Second Indochina Warfare,[26] was a Frosty War-era armed forces conflict that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 Nov 1955[A 1] to the land of Saigon on 31 April 1975. This conflict followed the First Indochina War and was struggled between North Vietnam—supported by China and other communist allies—and the government of South Vietnam—supported by the Usa and other anti-communist countries.[31] The Viet Cong (also referred to as National Liberation Front, or perhaps NLF), a lightly armed South Vietnamese communist prevalent front described by the North, largely battled a faccion war against anti-communist forces in the region. The Vietnam People's Army (North Vietnamese Army) engaged in an even more conventional warfare, at times committing large products into fight. U. S. and South Vietnamese pushes relied upon air superiority and mind-boggling firepower to conduct search and damage operations, including ground forces, artillery, and airstrikes.
